Domestic abuse takes many forms. An abuser may restrict their partners access to money and resources - such as accommodation, food, clothing and transportation. They may also stop their partner from working or insist on wages or benefits being paid into their own account. This is economic abuse or financial abuse.
This type of abuse can also happen as part of familial abuse - older people are particularly vulnerable to financial/economic abuse.
